RACELAND It didn’t come easy for East Carter in its first game of the Jeff Damron era on Monday night.
The Lady Raiders went home smiling, though, rallying from a nine-point third-quarter deficit and dodging a missed Raceland 35-footer to try to tie at the horn in a 50-47 victory on opening night.
Halle Swanagan pitched in 13 points and Alyssa Stickler added 12 for the Lady Raiders (1-0), who got nine players in the scoring column.
Emilee Garvin led all scorers with 17 points for the Lady Rams (0-1). Kierston Smith dropped in 13. Emma Picklesmier dropped in eight points and seven rebounds in limited minutes.
