COAL GROVE An alumnus of one of Ohio’s smallest schools has a chance to make it in one of the world’s biggest sporting leagues.

Coal Grove graduate Austen Pleasants signed Saturday with the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent. The offensive lineman graduated from Dawson-Bryant in 2015 and played at Ohio after that. The Bobcats listed him at 6-foot-7 and 312 pounds.

“Did I really just sign an NFL contract?” Pleasants tweeted Sunday afternoon with a picture of himself signing a contract, followed by the mind-blown emoji.

Among other area NFL draft hopefuls, Paintsville and UK alum Kash Daniel was not one of the 255 players drafted and had not signed a contract as of press time Sunday night.
