Reds OF Aquino

Player of Month

Cincinnati’s Aristides Aquino earned the distinction of National League Player of the Month and Rookie of the Month for August.

Aquino has been smacking home runs at a record-setting pace. In August, the outfielder batted .320 with 22 runs scored, four doubles, 14 home runs, 33 RBIs, 10 walks, two stolen bases and a .767 slugging percentage in 29 games played.

Aquino tied Frank Robinson (August 1962) and Greg Vaughn (September 1999) for most homers by any Red in any calendar month.

Aquino went deep in four consecutive contests from Aug. 6-10, including a three-bomb game against the Cubs on Aug. 10 at Great American Ball Park.
