TSAA to jury in new members
Tri-State Arts Association will have its next jury session for membership on March 7 behind the Huntington Museum of Art in Studio 2.
Artists must be at least 18 and resident of West Virginia, Ohio or Kentucky. Submit five pieces of original works in one medium (i.e. five oils, five watercolors, five photographs, etc.).
Work must be presented in a professional manner: two-dimensional works like oil and acrylic paintings on canvas framed, works on paper like drawings, photography and printmaking matted and framed. 3D works should be suitably presented.
HMA to offer clay, children’s classes
The Huntington Museum of Art is accepting class registrations for its winter/spring schedule of clay courses for adults 18 and older. HMA also is accepting class registrations for teen and children’s courses.
Upcoming adult clay classes will include:
• Wheel Throwing and Hand Building, 6 to 8 p.m. Mondays, Feb. 24 through May 18, Studio 4 and 5; instructor: Kathleen Kneafsey.
• Open Studio, 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays, Feb. 26 through May 20 ; monitor is Kathleen Kneafsey.
Open Studio, 6 to 8 p.m. Thursdays, March 5 through May 14, Studios 4 and 5; monitor is George Lanham.
Teen and children’s classes include:
• Creativity with Clay (middle and high school students), 2 to 4 p.m. Sundays, Feb. 23 through March 15; Studio 4; instructor is Kathleen Kneafsey.
• Drawing Basics for Teens (middle and high school students), 2 to 3:30 p.m. Saturdays, March 7 through April 4; Studio 3; instructor is Brandy Jefferys.
