GRAYSON A Grayson woman was arraigned in Carter County Circuit Court Monday morning after authorities said she fired bullets into a man’s vehicle’s tires during an argument.

Rita P. Tackett, 54, was arraigned in front of Carter County Circuit Court Judge Rebecca K. Phillips on the charges of first-degree wanton endangerment, a class D felony, second-degree disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor, and first-degree criminal mischief, a class D felony, according to court records.

Court records indicate that Tackett discharged two rounds from a .357 caliber handgun into the passenger-side tires of another person’s vehicle, causing more than $1,000 in damages.

Tackett was arrested by the Carter County Sheriff’s Department in July on the charges.

Authorities said the incident occurred outside a residence on 7th Street, according to police reports.

“Tackett then allegedly grabbed the weapon and fired into the passenger-side front tire and back tire of the man’s vehicle,” according to police reports. The argument was purportedly about allegations of infidelity.

Tackett is currently out of jail on a bond, according to court records.
