GREENUP – A Russell woman was convicted in Greenup courts recently after trafficking methamphetamine into the Russell area.
Garri Dawn Carey, 52, of Russell was sentenced to two years active time incarcerated recently in Greenup County Circuit Court on two counts of first degree trafficking in the controlled substance methamphetamine.
Carey was arrested in April after detectives from the FIVCO Area Drug Enforcement Task Force completed a crystal methamphetamine drug trafficking investigation in Russell, said a press release.
“The F.A.D.E. Task Force would like to thank the citizens of their communities for helping them combat this war on drugs,” authorities said in a press release.
The F.A.D.E. Task Force made multiple undercover drug purchases during the investigation and were able to secure multiple warrants.
The F.A.D.E. Task Force operates in Carter and Greenup counties and is comprised of officers from the Olive Hill Police Department, Russell Police Department, Raceland Police Department, and the Carter County Sheriff's Office.
