The only imaging center affected on March 6 is the one at 1000 Ashland Drive (Bellefonte Centre). OLBH has two other imaging facilities — one on Carter Avenue and another on East Ring Road in Ironton.

Bon Secours announced on Jan. 21 that it would be exiting acute and outpatient care in the Ashland and tri-state communities by Sept. 30. More than 1,000 employees are impacted. The 200-plus-bed hostpial, its system-owned care sites and Bellefonte Physician Services, its physician network, are set to close.

Closing a hospital is complex and fluid, a hospital spokesperson said on Friday. OLBH is working with leaders and providers through the wind-down process and is making decisions based on how it can best manage transitions for both patients and its associates.

Several area medical facilities have hosted job fairs and will continue to do so.

On Jan. 21, Jason Asic, OLBH’s interim president, released this statement: “We commit to working closely with our associates to share timely and transparent information, especially as it relates to the transition of services and employment opportunities and career fairs. We’ll work diligently to ensure opportunities across the ministry are made available, and we will work closely with area employers to identify opportunities close to home. In addition, we are establishing partnerships across the Tri-State to help those who may want to explore a different career.”
