GREENUP A Catlettsburg man has been charged this week in Greenup County District Court in connection with a 2019 police chase.
Ty B. Mullins, 34, is set to be arraigned today in Greenup on one count of first-degree wanton endangerment and one count of first-degree fleeing or evading a police officer. Both charges are class D felonies punishable by between one and five years in prison. Mullins was served his warrant at the Boyd County Detention Center, court records show.
Russell police say on Sept. 16, an officer attempted to pull Mullins over as he traveled southbound on U.S. 23. Mullins did not stop in a 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche, according to the arrest affidavit. He pulled onto the Ironton-Russell Bridge “at a high rate of speed,” the officer wrote, and crossed the center line into oncoming traffic.
Records indicate drugs and alcohol were not involved in the incident. No injuries were reported either in the arrest warrant.
Mullins was placed on probation in March 2019 in connection with a drug case in Boyd County, according to online records from the Kentucky Department of Corrections.
