The Coal Grove Betterment Club will have Village Fun Days July 1 through 3 at Paul Porter Park.

The ongoing celebration has taken place every year since 1977.

The activities start on Saturday with an opening ceremony by the VFW at 4 p.m. followed by Chris Laber singing the National Anthem.


4:20-5 p.m.: Zoar Church Choir will be singing.

5 p.m.: There will be an auction of Baked Good (cakes and pies) made by club members and other residents for the community; 6-7 p.m.: Kelly Greico and Band; 7-9 p.m.: Katie Owens Band; 9-10 p.m.: Bridget Reynolds.


1:30-2:30 p.m.: For His Grace; 2:30-5 p.m.: Chuck Compton; 5-6 p.m.: Jean Bowman; 6-7 p.m.: Steve Shelton; 7-9 p.m.: Kelly Grieco and Band; 9-l0 p.m.: Bridge Reynolds


2:30-3 p.m.: Emily Vance; 3-4 p.m.: Wally Christian; 4-6 p.m.: Michael James Band; 6-8 p.m.: Southern Thunder Band; 8-10 p.m.: Craig Haney; 10 p.m.: Fireworks.

New attractions include a pony ride and air brush tattoos. There will also be inflatables.

There will be a booth by the Lawrence County Board of Elections demonstrating the new voting machines.

The club is currently in the process of raising money to build a new storage building at the park to hold Christmas decorations.

On Monday, a van will be available for transporting handicapped individuals up to the park.
