The following information was taken from Ashland Police Department reports:

Shoplifting

‰A Magoffin County woman was arrested on Christmas Eve for allegedly trying to steal merchandise valued at $1,117.45 from the Ashland Wal-Mart.

Janet S. Bailey of Salyersville was lodged in the Boyd County Detention Center on a felony charge of theft by unlawful taking over $300.

‰Two men, one from Russell and one from Ashland, were arrested on Sunday for allegedly trying to steal items valued at $54 from Belk department store in the Ashland Town Center.

‰Two Ironton women were arrested on Saturday for allegedly swiping merchandise valued at $167.99 from Wal-Mart.

‰Crystal L. Spulock of Catlettsburg was arrested on Friday after she allegedly tried to shoplift items valued at $601.64 from Wal-Mart. She was lodged in the Boyd County Detention Center, charged with theft by unlawful taking over $300.

‰J.C. Penney in the Ashland Town Center reported on Friday two men had shoplifted items valued at $672.47. The names of the suspects were listed, but no arrests had been made as of Wednesday.

‰An Ohio man, Gary E. Willis of Kitts Hill, was charged with theft by unlawful taking over $300 after he was arrested on Friday for allegedly trying to steal merchandise valued at $499 from Wal-Mart. He was lodged in the Boyd Detention Center.

‰Shamrock Liquors, 1117 13th St., reported on Thursday someone had stolen merchandise valued at $200 from the store.

Burglary

‰A woman living in the 1600 block of Montgomery Avenue reported on Christmas Day prescription drugs and an electronic item, with a total value of $200, had been stolen in a break-in at her home.

‰MTS Medical Transport, 2341 Greenup Ave., reported on Christmas Eve someone had broken into the business and stolen $300 cash.

‰A man living in the 2400 block of Riggles Street reported on Friday items valued at $3,980 had been stolen in a burglary at his residence.

‰A resident of the 400 block of 30th Street on Friday reported tools valued at $1,400 had been stolen in a burglary.

‰A man living in the 3100 block of Mason Street on Thursday reported clothing, electronics and other items with a total value of $1,295, had been stolen in a break-in at his home.

Theft

‰A man living in the 800 block of Thompson Street on Sunday reported the theft of a toolbox from the back porch of his residence.

‰A man living in the 2100 block of Lexington Avenue on Saturday reported the theft of $1,000 worth of parts from his vehicle.

‰A woman living in the 600 block of 29th Street on Friday reported the theft of items valued at $500 from her vehicle.

‰A man living in the 400 block of Blackburn Avenue on Friday reported the theft of $217 in cash and other items.

Auto theft

‰A woman living in the 1100 block of Oak Street on Friday reported the theft of her vehicle, valued at $5,000.
