Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital is celebrating National Volunteer Week (April 6 through 13) by hosting an appreciation luncheon for its volunteers Wednesday at Bellefonte Pavilion, 2000 Ashland Drive, Russell). WSAZ meteorologist Tony Cavalier will be the event’s speaker.
OLBH offers many opportunities for community members to volunteer in assisting the hospital in fulfilling its ministry of healing. OLBH volunteers contributed more than 15,000 hours during the last year in a variety of hospital areas, including the gift shop, outpatient surgery waiting area, information desk, surgery and ICU waiting areas, couriers and auxiliary fundraising.
“The volunteers are an important part of the day-to-day activities and compliment the services provided by OLBH employees,” Luann Serey, OLBH Community Services director, said. Volunteers will be awarded pins recognizing their total hours of volunteer time at OLBH during the luncheon.
