ASHLAND An Ashland team has created an app that could become a game-changer for travelers.

Nexit is being marketed as an “all-in-one” app that can help people personalize their travels without the hassle of switching between apps. It combines features from different apps and offers it all in one, letting drivers disconnect and find exactly what they want — when they want it — during their travels. The app has been a work in progress in Ashland for years and the company is happy to release it.

“We are very excited to launch Nexit,” said Randy Carpenter, CEO of Nexit. “We have been working on it for a number of years. As excited as we are today, we are just getting started.”

The app allows users to customize searches by using multiple filters. These searches could range from something as simple as which gas station along their route has the cheapest prices to which restaurants are open, what the dining options are and what fits specific dietary needs.

The app was recently showcased on Forbes and launched for iPhone on Wednesday. The app will expand to android devices in the future.

According to Forbes, the app focuses on providing options for what is coming up along a route. It helps drivers continue on their route without turning around to go to a stop they missed.

The Daily Independent will have an in-depth story on Nexit in an upcoming edition.
