Weekend jailed

Police made several arrests over the Labor Day weekend as they continue to carry out enhanced enforcement aimed at combatting drunk driving.

The following arrests were made over the weekend according to jail and police records: 

Dustin S. Lawson, 25, of Ashland was arrested by the Boyd County Sheriff's Department on Saturday on the charges of first-degree trafficking in the controlled substance heroin and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Lawson was lodged at the Boyd County Detention Center.

Ted A. Mills Jr., 45, of Ashland was arrested by the Catlettsburg Police Department on Saturday on multiple charges. Mills was charged with public intoxication of a controlled substance, first-degree fleeing or evading police on foot, resisting arrest, first-degree criminal mischief, giving an officer false identifying information, third-degree assault on EMS or Rescue Squad, first-degree disorderly conduct, third-degree assault on a police officer, and a probation violation for a felony offense. Mills was then lodged at the Boyd County Detention Center. Mills is scheduled to be in Boyd County District Court on Tuesday.

Brian E. Church, 47, of Ashland was arrested by the Boyd County Sheriff's Department on Monday on the charges of fourth-degree assault, a domestic violence charge, and first-degree strangulation. Church was lodged at the Boyd County Detention Center.

Christopher Travis Clark, 30, of Ashland was arrested by the Kentucky State Police on Monday on the charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Clark was lodged at the Boyd County Detention Center.

Aaron Seth Whitt, 25, of Ashland was arrested by the Ashland Police Department on Tuesday on the charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Clark was lodged at the Boyd County Detention Center.

Michael S. Maynard, 44, of Ashland was arrested by the Ashland Police Department on Tuesday and charged with first-degree possession of the controlled substance methamphetamine and possession of marijuana. Maynard was lodged at the Boyd County Detention Center.

Kyara L. Garrett, 24, of Ashland was arrested by the Kentucky State Police on Monday on the charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol, speeding 21 mph over the limit, possession of marijuana, failure to wear seat belt, failure to notify address change to department of transportation, and failure to produce insurance card. Garrett was lodged at he Carter County Detention Center.

Michael Crisp, 45, of Grayson was arrested by the Kentucky State Police on Monday on the charge of first-degree possession of the controlled substance heroin. Crisp was lodged at the Carter County Detention Center.

Tyler Reed Kelly, 26, of Catlettsburg was arrested by the Greenup County Sheriff's Department on Monday on the charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol and no registration receipt. Kelly was lodged at the Greenup County Detention Center.

Patricia Lynn Williams, 44, of Springfield, Missouri, was arrested by the Kentucky State Police on Monday on the charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol, failure to appear, failure to wear seat belts, operating on a suspended or revoked license, and failure to notify address change to department of transportation. Williams was lodged at the Greenup County Detention Center.

John Fitzgerald Kennedy Peterman, 55, of Ashland was arrested by the Greenup Police Department on the charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol, a warrant from a federal agency, and second-degree fleeing or evading police on foot. Peterman was lodged at the Greenup County Detention Center.

Jerry Ray Blevins, 24, of Franklin Furnace, Ohio was arrested by the Raceland Police Department on Saturday on the charges of first-degree possession of the controlled substance methamphetamine, alcohol intoxication in a public place, and buying or possessing drug paraphernalia. Blevins was lodged at the Greenup County Detention Center.
