ASHLAND Children jumped on inflatables, participated in trunk or treat and lined Winchester Avenue for their turn to hop onto a large trailer for a hayride.

The final First Friday of 2019 was a success. Many families brought their children out for the event before the weather turns cold for the winter. There were plenty of fall festivities.

“It felt so good today that we just wanted to get out and enjoy the evening,” said Miranda Devaney. “I didn’t want the kids to stay in the house, and they have had a good time so far.”

Devaney came to First Friday with her three children. She said they were excited to get on the hayride because they had never been on one that big.

“I’m glad they got to experience First Friday,” she added.

A dance party led by a Zumba instructor Alison Webb broke out on the street.  Webb and the children danced to popular hip-hop songs and old dance favorites like “Cupid Shuffle.”

“The weather was nice, and we knew there would be something for the kids to do. The trunk or treat was nice,” said Jeannette Deal.

Deal came out to First Friday with her two daughters and husband. She was glad her family was able to make it out for the event.
