DAYTON – Authorities in Ohio are investigating the discovery of a Boyd County woman’s remains in the basement of a home.
Montgomery County Coroner’s Office said they believed Mary Lauhon, 87, of Boyd County died in April of 2017. Her remains were just found -- an official date of death was identified as January 30, 2019, according to the coroner’s office. The Montgomery County Coroner's Office told The Daily Independent that the cause of death is undetermined.
The Dayton Daily News reported that Lauhon had been found in a Rubbermaid storage tub in the basement of a home and that Lauhon had been deceased inside the tub for “some time”.
The Dayton Daily News reported that the Dayton Police Department is currently investigating the case. The police department was unavailable for comment to The Daily Independent.
