HUNTINGTON A local author book signing will be held Saturday at Heritage Station from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Mark Breeding, of Ashland, the author of Abby Girl and Other True Stories, is one of six local authors who will be at Heritage Station, located at 210 11th St., this Saturday for a meet and greet as well as book signings.

Breeding said he is looking forward to meeting local readers and book enthusiasts.

Breeding's book, Abby Girl and Other True Stories, is based off the true story of his German Shepherd and their adventures. The book is a compilation of short stories.

“It's a book about the bond between me and the dog,” said Breeding. “She was a great dog. The things we went through...the things she helped me through in my life.”

Romey Swanson, of Gallipolis, author of Never Alone, an inspirational memoir, will be attending the event.

Ivan McGlone, of Russell, and author of Just Around the Corner, and Rexanna Ross Schumaker, author of the soon-to-be-released Daughter of Life’s Longing: An Appalachian Journey, will be in attendance as well.

John Yeager will be signing copies of his three-volume collection of essays on the Lectionary of Sunday Readings, titled Called to Love. Yeager is the pastor of Eleanor Presbyterian Church in Putnam County.

The event will also double as a birthday celebration for book editor and publisher John Patrick Grace, who is turning 77.

Grace will also sign copies of a collection of stories from his early classes, titled simply “The Life Writing Class.”

There will be light refreshments served at the event.
