ASHLAND – Police are investigating evidence of foul play after an Ashland man was found deceased at his residence on Sunday.

The Ashland Police Department said they responded to a call on Sunday to an address on Auburn Avenue in South Ashland to check on the welfare of a resident.

A press release published by the department said upon arrival officers found the resident Phil Marzetti, 65, deceased. Officers found evidence of foul play.

Boyd County Coroner Mark Hammond said that Marzetti was pronounced deceased at the scene and will be transported to Frankfort for an autopsy.

The Ashland Police Department said that the investigation is ongoing.

“No further information will be released as the case is still being investigated,” according to the press release. “Ashland Police will release details whenever possible.”

APD said that a person of interest in connection to the case has been located.
