Democratic candidate for governor Andy Beshear will hold a press conference in Ashland today at 3 p.m. to announce a new jobs plan.
Beshear will also be opening a campaign office in Ashland. The office will be at 1423 Carter Ave. The opening will occur at 4:30 p.m. and the public is invited to attend the opening of the office. The opening is part of a coordinated campaign office opening across the state.
Beshear's running mate Jacqueline Coleman will also be at the press conference and office opening.
"We’re opening up a dozen offices around Kentucky and our team of organizers and volunteers has already knocked on 100,000 doors since the start of July," a spokesman said.
Beshear is running against incumbent Republican Gov. Matt Bevin. The Daily Independent will update this story as it unfolds.
