Vance and Ella Mae Huston of Greenup celebrated their 65th anniversary Sept. 9.
They were married Sept. 9, 1952.
Mr. Huston was born Jan. 30, 1933, to the late Harold and Mildred Huston. He graduated from Pasadena College, now known as Point Loma University with a bachelor’s degree and from California Polytechnic State University with a master’s degree. He served 22 years in the U.S. Marine Corps and retired as Lt. Colonel and taught Junior ROTC for 10 years at Greenup County High School.
Mrs. Huston was born June 12, 1931, to Hattie Driggs Hartzler and the late Earl Hartzler. She graduated from Pasadena College, also known as Point Loma University, with a bachelor’s degree. She was a wife and mother. After her children were grown, she worked as a legal secretary for 18 years for Judge Lewis Nicholls in Greenup County.
They are both members of the First United Methodist Church of Greenup.
They are the proud parents of five children, Vince Huston of Plano, Texas, Connie Orr of Pittsburgh, Pa., Victor Huston of Greenup, Cheryl Colussy of Upper Saint Claire, Pa., and Val Huston of Lima, Peru, South America.
They have eight grandchildren with one on the way in December.
