Ellis and Phyllis Holcomb

Ellis and Phyllis Holcomb of Forest Heights in South Shore celebrated their 60th anniversary on May 25.

They were married Jun 2, 1956, at St. Marys of the Annunciation Catholic Church by Father Cooney. Their grandson, the Rev. Chad Vanhoose, a recently ordained transitional deacon in the Catholic church in St. Paul, Minn., formerly of South Shore, renewed their vows in front of family and friends.

They are the proud parents of three children, Julie (Paul) Vanhoose of Amelia, Ohio, Mark (Robin) Holcomb of Farmersville, Ohio and Bruce (Denise) Holcomb of Wheelersburg, Ohio.

They have eight grandchildren, Mary (Jamie) Younger, Mandy (Josh) Svarda, the Rev. Chad Holcomb, Dustin (Jennifer) Holcomb, Chase (April) Holcomb, Chelsea (Zach) Bollinger, Brook Holcomb and Allyssa Holcomb; and 17 great-grandchildren with one on the way.

Mr. Holcomb is retired from AK Steel.

Mr. Holcomb is a retired certified developer.

They will spend their anniversary at Myrtle Beach.
