2-hour standoff ends with man being tased

SUMMIT — A two-hour standoff on Fish Hatchery Road with Boyd County Sheriff Department deputies ended with a man being tased and taken to King’s Daughters Medical Center late Sunday night.

The sheriff’s department responded to a call of shots fired and upon investigation found a 42-year-old man with a gun and threatening suicide.

After two hours if talking to him, deputies were able to tase the man and take away the gun. He was not seriously injured.

His name has not been released.
