UPDATE: 1 killed, 6 injured in crash on U.S. 60; road reopened

CANNONSBURG — U.S. 60 has been reopened to traffic after being closed because of a three-vehicle accident that claimed the life of one person and injured several others.

Six others were injured and four flown to area hospitals. Names from the accident have not been released.

Boyd County Sheriff’s Office was initially dispatched but requested assistance from Kentucky State Police. The KSP accident reconstruction team finished around 11 p.m. The road was closed for about five hours.

Fire departments from Cannonsburg, Summit and Norton’s Branch responded to the scene. .
