Ohio man dies in stabbing

SOUTH POINT — An Ohio man died as the result of a stabbing Thursday evening.

Jason L. Ellis, 36 of South Point, suffered a stab wound to the neck during an altercation with his wife at the couple's home on Township Road 1019 in South Point, Lawrence County Sheriff Jeff Lawless said.

The incident occurred about 6:25 p.m. The couple's two children were home at the time, Lawless said.

Following the stabbing, Ellis' wife drove him to Cabell Huntington Hospital, where he died shortly after arrival.

Ellis' body was taken to the West Virginia Medical Examiner's Office in Charleston, where an autopsy will be be performed.

The incident remains under investigation and no charges have been filed, Lawless said.
