ASHLAND — Construction at renovated Putnam Stadium keeps moving along with the Aug. 22 opening game deadline looming.
Workers were putting down the concrete walking area behind the home stands on Thursday morning. Several other workers were on the visitor's side putting some finishing touches on the bleachers.
The new bucket seats on the home side are also in place.
Groundskeeper Steve Conley and his dogs were on the playing field, making sure the watering system was working. It was a beehive of activity as the calendar prepares to move to July next week.
New bids for the locker rooms are supposed to be back soon after the first bid was rejected by the Ashland School Board.
The structure that house Putnam Stadium for 76 years was taken down back in January and February for safety reasons.
