MOREHEAD — Kentucky State Police today arrested two men in connection with a weekend home-invasion shooting in Rowan County that left a 20-year-old man dead.
Warrants also have been issued for three additional suspects, who remain at large, the KSP said.
Demario Powell, 18, of Morehead, and Marcus Stewart, 19, of Elizabethtown both were charged with murder and lodged in the Rowan County Detention, according to a release from the KSP's Morehead post.
The two were charged in the slaying of Bo Otis of Owingsville, which occured about 1:20 p.m. Sunday at a residence on Rose Road in Clearfield.
According to the KSP, a man at the residence called 911 to report a home invasion. When troopers arrived at the scene, they found Otis with a gunshot wound to his head. He was transported initially to St. Claire Regional Medical Center, then transferred to University of Kentucky Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The KSP has not released any other details on the incident, including the motive for the slaying.
The KSP is seeking information on the locations of three additional suspects — Anthony "Rell" Paysen, 19, of Hodgensville; and Julius "Jubee" Kolowitz, 20, and Jaque Abrams, 19, both of Elizabethtown. Murder warrants have been obtained for all three, the KSP said.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the three should contact the Morehead post at (606) 784-4127. All three should be considered armed and dangerous, the KSP said.
Powell and Stewart both are being held on $1 million bond.
The case remains under investigation by Detective Toby Gardner.
