Tree, power lines down on Shopes Creek

MEADS — Boyd County 911 is advising motorists to avoid the 2600 block of Shopes Creek Road for the next few hours due to the road being blocked by a fallen tree and power lines.

The estimated clearing time is eight hours, according to a Nixle alert.

The downed lines have resulted in approximately 600 power outages, according to Kentucky Power's website.
