UPDATE: Storm causes damage, outages

ASHLAND — AEP is reporting more than 13,000 customers in Boyd, Greenup and Carter county are without power as of 9 p.m.

The storm that swept through the area around 8 p.m. Tuesday also has produced downed power lines and fallen trees. Dispatchers in the three-county area were busy fielding calls but no injuries had been reported.

Boyd County has nearly 8,000 customers without power while Greenup has arouind 4,000 and Carter a little less than 1,000. Several trucks have been dispatched to the areas affected.
