Some newspaper delivery delayed by closed roads

ASHLAND — Newspaper delivery of The Independent has been delayed to several areas in the region because of flooding and downed trees and power lines, according to circulation director Mark Campbell.

An ice storm swent thorugh Carter County on Tuesday night, leaving many roads closed. Multiple carriers have reported that portions of routes have been cut off because of the problems.

Carriers plan to get the newspapers to the customers as soon as the roads reopen.
