Roads blocked because of weather issues

ASHLAND — Several roads throughout northeastern Kentucky are closed because of downed trees, downed power lines and high water.

Highway crews are continuing to patrol and respond to debris, flooding and mudslides on state highways throughout the region.

Most recently, Ky. 719 and Ky. 706 in Elliott County have been blocked to through traffic, and Ky. 2342 in Rowan County is closed due to high water.

Here are road closures as of 7:30 this morning:

-In Boyd County: KY 538 (Shopes Creek) and KY 168 (Blackburn), trees in power lines. Authorities notified, crews working.

-In Carter County: KY 1444, KY 59, KY 986, trees in power lines. Flooding also is blocking KY 986.

-In Greenup County: KY 1459, trees down from mile markers 0-3; KY 784, high water from mile markers 10-11.

-In Lewis County: KY 59, high water from mile markers 7-10.

-In Rowan County: KY 801 blocked by mudslide near the 5 mile marker; and KY 2342.

-In Elliott County: KY 719 and KY 706.

-In Fleming County: KY 3303, high water from the 0-1 mile markers.
