More water problems in Lloyd

GREENUP —

Officials were trucking in emergency water supplies to the Lloyd and Load areas Sunday after once again shutting off supply lines to the areas.
Storage tank levels continued to drop and workers were searching for the leaks that are draining them, according to Greenup Mayor Lundie Meadows.
Emergency supplies of water were on the way and expected to arrive around 6 p.m., Meadows said.
One truckload was coming from Corbin with 700 cases and another from Tampa with 1,000 cases, he said. The water will be distributed at the Lloyd and Load volunteer fire departments.
The supply was shut off because storage tanks were draining even though the city's plant is processing water at top capacity.
The city has an emergency number, 473-6757, for reporting leaks and Meadows said quick reporting is important for resolving the problem. Monday through Friday leaks may be reported to the city building, 473-7331.
