BEREA — Janet Ellen Witt and Zachary Blaine Thompson were united in marriage on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at 6:30 p.m. at Union Church in Berea. Pastor Kevin Grady officiated. Music for the ceremony was provided by Logan Brown. Ceremony readings were performed by the Matron of Honor and the Best Man. Following the wedding, the bride's parents hosted a seated dinner, dancing, and reception at Historic Boone Tavern. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's mother hosted a rehearsal dinner at Main Street Café in Berea.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Witt of Irvine. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Jeanette King of Irvine and the late Mr. Joseph M. King and Mrs. Helen Witt of Irvine and the late Mr. Leon Witt.

The groom is the son of Mrs. Carolyn Thompson of Ashland and the late Mr. Jonas Thompson. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Robbins and the late Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Thompson.

Victoria Barnett of Irvine, sister of the bride, served as Matron of Honor. Bridesmaids included Emily Kingery, Sarah Priddy and Deidra Roberts. 

Christopher Carter of Ashland, best friend of the groom, served as Best Man. Groomsmen included Jared Adkins, Jordan Johnson and Kendall Bache. Andrew Witt and Drew Barnett served as ushers.

The bride is a graduate of Estill County High School in Irvine. She graduated from Georgetown College with a bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry and the UK School of Pharmacy. She now works as the pharmacist at Estill Clinic Pharmacy in Irvine.

The groom is a graduate of Fairview High School in Westwood. He graduated from Kentucky Christian University with a bachelor’s degree in history-pre-law and a bachelor’s degree in Biblical studies. He is employed as a Kentucky State Trooper, stationed at Post 14 in Ashland.

Following a brief honeymoon in Asheville, N.C., they will reside in Irvine.

A formal honeymoon to Ireland will follow in August.
