ASHLAND — Christy Rayburn-Holston and Hobert John “Hobie” Haney were married June 12, 2012, in a double-ring traditional ceremony followed by a Male’ana Ho’olaulea Hawaiian wedding celebration with the exchange of Hawaiian leis. The wedding took place at sunset on Charely Young Beach in Kihei-Maui, Hawaii. The wedding was proceeded by a full Hawaiian luau. The native Hawaiians concluded the luau with a Hawaiian dance of love and happiness.

The bride, a daughter of Bob and Anice Rayburn of Greenup, is a graduate of Greenup County High School and is a former correctional officer for Ohio River Valley Correctional Facility. She is a full-time student.

The groom, a son of the late Carl Haney and Betty Haney of Wurtland, is a graduate of Greenup County High School and is employed as a river boat pilot for Superior Marine in South Point.

Following a two-week honeymoon spent traveling the islands of Maui, Oahu and the big island of Hawaii, the couple reside in Greenup.
