ASHLAND — Marlena R. Aurentz and Chad D. Thornberry, both of Beckley, were wed at 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 17 at the Foxwood Inn in Ghent, W.Va, by Pastor Vondie Cook.

The parents of the bride are French and Patricia Aurentz of Beckley.

The groom’s parents are Darrel and Tammy Thornberry of Rush.

Soloist was Chris Davis, cousin of the bride, of Daniels, W.Va.

Matron of honor was Jennifer Davis, cousin of the bride, of Daniels.

Bridesmaids were Ashley Legursky and Katie Barnes, both of Beckley, and Kandi Sigmon of North Tazewell, Va.

Best man was Logan Thornberry, brother of the groom, of Georgetown.

Groomsmen were Bill Rose and Brett Esenbock, both of Catlettsburg and Brian “Nemo” Miller of Ashland.

Other attendants included flower girls Kellen and Kendall McCown, cousins of the groom, of Lexington.

The bride is a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, Concord University and Bluefield State College with degrees in business management. She is employed with the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, W.Va.

The groom is a graduate of Boyd County High School and Eastern Kentucky University with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. He is employed with FCI in Beckley.

The couple honeymooned in Cancun, Mexico, and reside in Beckley.
