Wilson-Shaffer

Melissa Dawn Wilson of Russell and Brian Keith Shaffer of Russell were married June 7, 2008, at 4:30 p.m. by Pastor Steve Ruby at Ashland First Church of the Nazarene. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Randy Wilson of South Point and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Shaffer of Ashland.

Music for the ceremony was by Shannon Crum of Ashland, pianist and soloist.

Matron of honor was Jessica Hess of Canastota, N.Y. Bridesmaids were Lori Kuhnapfel of Lexington; Stacie Wilson of Georgetown, sister-in-law of the bride and Taylor Shaffer of Russell, daughter of the groom.

Alora and Addison Wilson of Georgetown, nieces of the bride, served as flower girls.

Best man was Matt Wilson, brother of the bride, of Georgetown. Groomsmen were Jacob Hewlett of Worthington; Mike Baldwin of Flatwoods; and Ron Shaffer, brother of the groom, of Flatwoods.

Brad Newson of Ashland, cousin of the bride, and Judaea Schlomer of Ashland, great-nephew of the groom, served as ringbearers.

The bride was a 1998 graduate of Raceland High School and is employed at the Federal Correctional Institute in Ashland.

The groom is a 1994 graduate of Raceland High School and is employed with General Heating and Air in Ashland.

Following a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico, the couple are residing in Russell.
