Gunstream-Meko

Leslie Gunstream and Tim Meko were united in marriage, July 12, 2008, at 6:30 in the evening on the lakeside lawn at Horseshoe Bay Resort Yacht Club in Horseshoe Bay, Texas. The double-ring ceremony was officiated by Chaplain Larry Todd of Austin, Texas. Ceremony music was presented by Chanterelle Duo, a violin and guitar duo from Austin. A reception and dinner was held in the Yacht Club Ballroom at Horseshoe Bay Yacht Club. Dancing followed with music provided by the seven-piece band “Blind Date” of Austin.

The bride is the daughter of Sue Simons of Horseshoe Bay and Jesse Gunstream of League City, Texas. She is a third-year student at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine.

The groom is the son of Joe and Kathy Meko of Russell. He is a 2006 graduate of Transylvania University and a master’s degree candidate at Ohio University in Athens. He is employed by the Columbus Dispatch as an artist/graphic designer in Columbus, Ohio.

The bride was attended by friend Kasey Cliffton of Columbus as the maid of honor. Attendants were friends Meghan Hall from Charleston, W.Va., and Danielle Pentello from Columbus, Leah Gunstream, cousin of the bride, from Houston, Texas, and Kaitlyn Meko, sister of the groom, from Russell.

Best man was friend Brent Craft from Greenup. Groomsmen were Dan and Anthony Meko, brothers of the groom, from Russell, Jared Semrau, cousin of the groom, from Erie, Pa., Jesse Gunstream, brother of the bride, from Horseshoe Bay and friend John Darnell of Russell.

On the eve of the ceremony, the groom’s parents, Joe and Kathy Meko, hosted a Texas barbecue at Quail Point on Lake LBJ in Horseshoe Bay. Ninety guests enjoyed Texas barbeque and learning to Texas two-step to country and western music provided by “Big Lloyd” Dalton and his band from Marble Falls, Texas.

The bride’s mother and stepfather, Dannie Simons, hosted a Sunday brunch for all guests in their home on the 12th green of the Slick Rock Golf Course in Horseshoe Bay Resort. The bride and groom visited with family and friends prior to their departure for Maui and Kauai, Hawaii.

The newlyweds will reside in Columbus.
