Vivian K. Cherry and Kenneth R. Barney Sr., both of Flatwoods, were married on April 18 at 4 p.m. at First Church of the Nazarene in Flatwoods. The double-ring ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Jeff Boyd, son of the bride, of Frankfort.
Parents of the couple are the late William and Edna Keeton and the late Bernard and Dorothy Barney.
The bride was given in marriage by her son, Jim Cherry of Raceland.
She is a graduate of Raceland High School and is a homemaker.
He is a graduate of Paul G. Blazer High School and is employed by Pennington’s Foodfair in Flatwoods and retired from the printing department of Ashland Oil.
The matron of honor was Debra Christy of Raceland, daughter of the bride.
The best man was Kendall Barney of Morehead, grandson of the groom.
Musicians were pianist Michelle Boyles of Raceland; saxophonist Shane Kelley of Chicago, Ill., grandson of the bride; soloists Jonda Cherry of Raceland, daughter-in-law of the bride, and Jalayna May of Worthington, granddaughter of the bride.
Their reception was on April 18, following the ceremony at Family Life Center, First Church of the Nazarene in Flatwoods.
They went to Gatlinburg, Tenn., for their honeymoon.
They are residing in Flatwoods.
