Smith-Ellis
Kriston Jean Smith of Beckley, W.Va., and Charles Wesley Ellis II of Flatwoods were married April 21, 2007, in the Beckley Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Robert Debnam performed the double-ring ceremony.
Kriston is the daughter of Clinton and Karen Smith of Beckley and the granddaughter of Clinton and Jean Smith and Jim and Betty Hartsog. Kriston is a 2000 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and a 2006 graduate of the West Virginia University School of Pharmacy with a doctor of pharmacy degree. She is employed as a pharmacist by Kmart pharmacy in Beckley.
Wes is the son of Charles Ellis of Birmingham, Ala., and Margie Cartmell of Ironton, Ohio. He is the grandson of Elva and Gypsie McDavid and the late Otis and Hilda Ellis. Wes is a 1998 graduate of Russell High School and a 2006 graduate of the West Virginia University School of Pharmacy with a doctor of pharmacy degree. He is employed as a pharmacist by Access Health Pharmacy in Glen Daniel.
Given in marriage by her father, Kriston wore a Mori Lee halter bodice gown overlaid with crystal beaded lace. The taffeta skirt with chapel length train was surrounded with ruched pick ups. She carried a bouquet of white and cream roses, tulips, calla lilies and stephanotis. The floral arrangements were designed by Ned Crews of Ned Crews Florist of Pineville, W.Va. Music was provided by Mrs. Laurel Thomson on the concert harp and Mrs. Teresa McCoy on the pipe organ.
The maid of honor was Dr. Emily DeVault of Columbus. Bridesmaids were Amy Barrett of Portland, Ore., Mary Edwards of Morgantown, W.Va., Caty Ellis of Birmingham and Megan Skaff of Radcliff, Ky. The bridesmaids wore black satin dresses and carried bouquets of cream, green and pink roses, tulips, and lilies.
The best man was Jeremy Worthington of Flatwoods. Groomsmen were Richard Daniels of Charleston, Frank B. Mann III of Beckley, Stephen Potter of Flatwoods and James Ellis of Birmingham.
Sarah Mann of Dade City, Fla., was the flower girl. The ring bearer was Joey Voiers II of Peach Tree, W.Va. Dr. Nicole Riser of Charleston read selected scriptures. Rebecca and Victoria Mann of Dade City were guest book attendants and Taylor Tieche of Madison, Tenn., lit the memory candle.
The black and white wedding theme was continued at the dinner reception held at the Tamarack Conference Center in Beckley. Music was provided by Juke Box Entertainment. The five-tier wedding cake was created by Fruits of Labor. Photography was provided by Frank Mauritz of Frank Mauritz Studios in Oak Hill, W.Va.
Following the ceremony the couple enjoyed a honeymoon trip to St. Lucia, West Indies. They now reside in Beckley.
