BANANA TREE STUDIOS

Major gift items as well as stocking stuffers and gift certificates for art or eight-week art classes, which will begin in January. Gallery hours are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. or by appointment at 121 E. Electric Ave., Flemingsburg.

DOODLES STUDIO & GALLERY

The gallery has a large variety of gift items such as hand-crafted glass and silver jewelry by Pam Wiseman and Linda Pennington, hand-made soaps and candles and quilted table runners and seasonal wall hangings. Pottery by Toby Fried.

There is also hand-carved wooden jewelry boxes by artist Tim Ashmore of Morehead and new photography by Russ Roe and several hand-made tree ornaments by Brenda Flynn, Katie Knapp and Jeri Wagner.

The gallery is at 101 East Water St., Flemingsburg and is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., closed from 1 to 2 p.m. for lunch.

PAINTED COW GALLERY

Studio home for the Lawrence County Arts Council, 103 S. Main St., Louisa. The gallery has a wide diversity of fine hand-made artwork on display and for sale from artists of the Tri-State and beyond.

Commissioned artists are available for specific art work.

There is still time to shop.

Come see the cow tree and breast cancer awareness tree and make a donation for a cure. Uniquely wonderful one of a kind fine art treasures. Gallery artists have restocked for the season with new paintings, sculptures, jewelry, art dolls, handmade holiday items, quilts, art books, prints and cards and much more.

The gallery excepts checks, credit cards, layaways and other gift certificates in any denomination for that hard to buy-for person.

Tuesdays — Artists Day. Bring your own supplies (except oils) and for $5, spend the day creating with other artists. Drawing and watercolor lessons are also available.

THE PENDLETON

ART CENTER

The Pendleton Art Center at 1537-1539 Winchester Ave., Ashland, houses the working and retail sale studios of artists and craftsmen from the Tri-State Area with a wide range of talents.

Pendleton studios will be open for shopping on Saturdays through Dec. 20, between 2 and 6 p.m.

The Left Bank Café is open during the hours of 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and during First Friday and Second Look Saturday events. (606) 325-3815. The Thursday before First Friday each month is open mic night. Singers, storytellers, poets, comedians, and others are invited to perform.

Artist of the month is Shea Ashworth, watercolorist from Proctorville.

Thoroughbred Cookbook is for sale with some of the proceeds going to Hospice. Cost is $8.

A sale in the gallery for the month of December with 10 percent off except for the cookbooks.

A new artist is pottery Lois Mack of Milton, art teacher at Cabell-Midland High School in Ona.

The gallery’s collection contains works by 30 of the best artists in the area.
