BANANA TREE STUDIOS

Through Sunday — National Arts and Humanities Month. Student exhibit Fleming County School District reception for the Fleming County art students from 5 to 8 p.m. Student art will be for sale.

November to December — TBA Classes

Classes are limited to 6-8 students, beginners to advanced. Classes are in the evenings and begin at 6 p.m. for oil and ceramics and 6:30 p.m. for watercolor. All classes are $110 for 21/2 hours. per week for eight weeks. Gift certificates are available.

Fall Session

Through Monday — Oils.

Through Wednesday — Watercolor.

Through Thursday — Ceramics.

Weekend Workshops will be offered during the fall. Watch for dates.

DOODLES STUDIO & GALLERY

Through Dec. 10 — “A Celebration of Nature,” featuring traditional, heritage and contemporary works by Kentucky artisans.

The gallery has a large variety of gift items such as hand-crafted glass and silver jewelry by Pam Wiseman and Linda Pennington, hand-made soaps and candles and quilted table runners and seasonal wall hangings.

A new body of work by Michael Wagner will be available and artists Dana Sorrell and Dale Regensburger will have new work at the show.

Doodles is proud to feature pottery by Toby Fried.

There is also hand-carved wooden jewelry boxes by artist Tim Ashmore of Morehead and new photography by Russ Roe and several hand-made tree ornaments by Brenda Flynn, Katie Knapp and Jeri Wagner.

MILLER GALLERY

Nov. 7, 6 to 8 p.m. — Opening reception for an exhibit by internationally acclaimed Kentucky artist John Michael Carter. Exhibit continues through Nov. 19. Show consists of recent oil paintings by Carter, including portraits, figuratives, still life and landscapes.

PAINTED COW GALLERY

Studio home for the Lawrence County Arts Council, 103 S. Main St., Louisa. The gallery has a wide diversity of fine hand-made artwork on display and for sale from artists of the Tri-State and beyond.

Come see the fall and Halloween exhibit, the largest of its kind in the Tri-State area.

Commissioned artists are available for specific art work. Six new artists have signed up during Septemberfest. They are unique in their own way.

Tuesdays — Artists Day. Bring your own supplies (except oils) and for $5, spend the day creating with other artists. Drawing and watercolor lessons are also available.

Greg Painter, acrylic and watercolor, is now exclusive to the gallery.

THE PENDLETON

ART CENTER

Stop and visit with the artists of the Pendleton during Ashland's First Friday Downtown Art Walk from 5 to 9 p.m. on Nov 7. Artwork will be on display in the lobby and in individual studios to be enjoyed by all and for sale. Many artists will be in their studios Saturday, Nov. 8, from 2-6 p.m. so you can stop by for a second look or to make a purchase.

The Pendleton Art Center at 1537-1539 Winchester Ave., Ashland, houses the working and retail sale studios of artists and craftsmen from the Tri-State Area with a wide range of talents.
