BANANA TREE STUDIOS
The studio offers class instruction in ceramics, watercolors and oils.
All classes are open to beginners as well as advanced students. Classes are for eight weeks, meeting once a week for 21/2 hours. There must be five students registered for the class. Cost is $110.
Gallery hours are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. or by appointment at 121 E. Electric Avenue in Flemingsburg.

DOODLES STUDIO & GALLERY
‰Paper Mosaic class. $65 including 6X6” canvas or mirror frame, craft knife, decoupage medium and dimensional paint as well as six to eight class hours of instruction to be done in one day.
‰Traditional Mosaic class. $110 including mirror frame, tile nippers, safety glasses, adhesive and six class hours of instruction.

JESSE STUART FOUNDATION
Allan Eckert will be at the JSF Bookstore, 1645 Winchester Ave. downtown Ashland, from 3 to 6 p.m. Nov. 5 and 10 a.m. to noon Nov. 6 signing his new book, “Dark Journey: The Tragedy of the Donner Party.”
The Regional Readers will meet on the last Tuesday of each month to discuss a book about this region. Anyone is welcome to join the group.
A new bookstore has opened up that includes books by Jesse Stuart, Billy C. Clark, Harry Caudill, Thomas D. Clark, Allan W. Eckert and hundreds of other Kentucky and Appalachian authors. Visitors can also enjoy the used book store, photographic exhibit and art gallery. Until Halloween, the foundation is featuring spooky and ghost stories.

Potters’ Loft

PAINTED COW GALLERY
The gallery and Lawrence County Arts Council will sponsor art classes for students each Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the gallery. Beginning watercolor classes for adults are offered at noon on the first Saturday of each month for $26 per session, including supplies. For reservations call Maureen at (606) 638-1313.
The newest fundraiser is for the American Cancer Society’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
There will be a silent auction this month for a one of a kind watercolor by Maureen Dosier.
The painting is named “Night Flight” and is matted and framed and ready to hang.
In honor of Halloween, the gallery welcomes local author Tammy Barker with her children’s book “The Witches Three” and illustrated by another local artist, Sandra Marcum.
The gallery has a variety of Halloween art for sale.
Congratulations to artist Jim Harry Hazlett for winning three third-place awards at Art in the Park for water color. His work is for sale exclusively at the Painted Cow Gallery.
The gallery is featuring the hard and soft bound copies autographed and for sale.
Every Tuesday is Artist’s Day. Bring your own supplies (except oils and clay) and spend the day creating with other artists for a small fee.
