BANANA TREE STUDIOS

Through Sunday — National Arts and Humanities Month. Student exhibit Fleming County School District reception for the Fleming County art students from 5 to 8 p.m. Student art will be for sale.

November to December — TBA Classes

Classes are limited to 6-8 students, beginners to advanced. Classes are in the evenings and begin at 6 p.m. for oil and ceramics and 6:30 p.m. for watercolor. All classes are $110 for 21/2 hours. per week for eight weeks. Gift certificates are available.

Fall Session

Through Monday — Oils.

Through Wednesday — Watercolor.

Through Thursday — Ceramics.

Weekend Workshops will be offered during the fall. Watch for dates.

DOODLES STUDIO & GALLERY

Through Dec. 10 — “A Celebration of Nature,” featuring traditional, heritage and contemporary works by Kentucky artisans.

The gallery has a large variety of gift items such as hand-crafted glass and silver jewelry by Pam Wiseman and Linda Pennington, hand-made soaps and candles and quilted table runners and seasonal wall hangings.

A new body of work by Michael Wagner will be available and artists Dana Sorrell and Dale Regensburger will have new work at the show.

Doodles is proud to feature pottery by Toby Fried.

There is also hand-carved wooden jewelry boxes by artist Tim Ashmore of Morehead and new photography by Russ Roe and several hand-made tree ornaments by Brenda Flynn, Katie Knapp and Jeri Wagner.

HIGHLANDS MUSEUM and

DISCOVERY CENTER

Through Oct. 31 — Hit us with your best shot photo exhibit.

Through Saturday — Elizabeth Roseberry Mitchell’s 1836 graveyard quilt on display.

Friday, 7 p.m. — Linda Otto Lipsett at the museum. Hear a first-person presentation of Elizabeth Roseberry Mitchell and the events that led to the making of her 1836 graveyard quilt. Lipsett is a quilt historian and author of five books. She will be signing books after the presentation. Admission is free, but seating is limited, call to reserve a space.

Saturday — “Dining with the Past,” a guided tour of the Ashland Cemetery, as well as dinner prior to the tour. Tickets are $15.

Nov. 1, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. — Hannah Montana day. Come be with the museum for karaoke, food prizes, makeovers, crafts and more. $5 per ticket.

Dec. 6, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Dec. 7, 1 to 6 p.m. — Christmas Tour of Homes. Advance tickets are $15; after Dec. 5, $20.

MUSEUM OF ART

Friday, 7 p.m. — The museum will welcome Janis Mars Wunderlich as gropius artist and present feature length documentary titled “Who does she think she is?” Admission is free. A reception will follow.

‰Nov. 12 to Dec. 3, except Nov. 26, — Building with clay. Three sessions from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Instructor, Kathleen Kneafsey, Studio 4. $40 per pair for members and $55 per pair for non-members.

JESSE STUART FOUNDATION

EllynAnne Geisel, a nationally recognized expert on the history and construction of aprons, will sign her books at the Jesse Stuart Foundation on Saturday from noon to 2 p.m.

PAINTED COW GALLERY

Studio home for the Lawrence County Arts Council, 103 S. Main St., Louisa. The gallery has a wide diversity of fine hand-made artwork on display and for sale from artists of the Tri-State and beyond.

Come see the fall and Halloween exhibit, the largest of its kind in the Tri-State area.

Commissioned artists are available for specific art work. Six new artists have signed up during Septemberfest. They are unique in their own way.

Tuesdays — Artists Day. Bring your own supplies (except oils) and for $5, spend the day creating with other artists. Drawing and watercolor lessons are also available.

Greg Painter, acrylic and watercolor, is now exclusive to the gallery.

THE PENDLETON

ART CENTER

The Pendleton Art Center at 1537-1539 Winchester Ave., Ashland, houses the working and retail sale studios of artists and craftsmen from the Tri-State Area with a wide range of talents.

Artist of the Month is acrylic artist Danielle Craig of Studio 105, exhibiting new acrylic and oil paintings.
