ANN DAVIS GALLERY

The Kentucky Watercolor Society’s Aqueous USA 2007/2008 Travel Show will be on display until Saturday.

On display in the Logan Room are a selection of paintings by Alo Smal.

ART OF THE REDEEMED

STUDIO & GALLERY

The gallery, in Suite 206 on the second floor of the Camayo Arcade, 1536 Winchester Ave., Ashland, is home to working artists Gail Kirtz and Rodney Chapman, both of whom work in various media and offer their original art and prints for sale.

Special exhibit — “Toothpick Constructions” by Les Hayes, which include a replica of his home, the Spider Web House, Cracker Barrel restaurants, the old Russell High School, houses, barns, churches and depots.

‰On exhibit — New impressionistic landscapes and seascapes in oil by Kirtz. Also on exhibit are pastels, acrylics and mixed-media works.

‰On exhibit — New contemporary works by Chapman in acrylic and mixed media. He is accepting portrait commissions.

Openings are still available in classes or private lessons in pastel, acrylic and oil.

The studio and gallery are handicapped accessible with an elevator and open by appointment.

Art Camp

‰Through July 13 — American Spirit/The AG Edwards/Wachovia Securities Collection.

‰Through Aug. 3 — “Several Arguments with Photography: Thorney Lieberman, photographs 1968 through 2008.”

Children’s art camp, under the direction of qualified and experienced teachers, campers will be inspired and challenged with their art making. Campers will be divided into age appropriate groups: K-1st, 2nd - 3rd, 4th-5th.

Each camp runs Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Registration fee per child is $100 for members, $120 for non-members per week.

Extended morning hours are from 8 to 9 a.m., extended afternoon hours are from 3 to 5 p.m.

Registration fee for extended hours per child per camp for pre-camp is $15 per week; post camp $20 per week; or pre and post camp for $30 per week. Campers need to bring their own lunches, drinks and snacks.

No refunds for cancellations. To register, call the Education Department at (304) 529-2701, Ext 21.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.

PAINTED COW GALLERY

The gallery has a wide diversity of fine hand-made artwork on display and for sale from artists of the Tri-State area and beyond.

“Uncommon Wealth” is the featured exhibit this month.

This beautiful exhibit from a diversity of visual artists affiliated with the Kentucky Arts Council will run for five weeks.

Tuesdays — Artists Day. Bring your own supplies (except oils) and for $5 spend the day creating with other artists.

Wednesdays 1 to 3 p.m. — Art for Kids Day throughout the summer. Art classes are for students from ages 8 through 18. Cost is $10 per session.

THE PENDLETON

ART CENTER

Celebrate First Friday, July 4th at the Pendleton Art Center from 5-9 p.m. during Ashland's downtown 1st Friday Art Walk. Many artists will be in their studios the next day (2nd Look Saturday) so you can take a 2nd look at the artwork.

The Pendleton Art Center at 1537-1539 Winchester Ave., Ashland, houses the working and retail sale studios of artists and craftsmen from the Tri-State Area with a wide range of talents. Pendleton Studios are open on the first Friday of the month from 5 to 9 p.m. for the First Friday Art Walk in downtown Ashland and from 2 to 6 p.m. on the next day for Second Look Saturday. Angy Hall, Studio 105, featuring wearable art, photography and mixed media, is Artist of the Month for July.
