ANN DAVIS GALLERY
Stephen Tirone, art professor at Morehead State University, will exhibit his pottery, paintings and sculpture: bronze, marble and wood. His work will be on display through March 31.
Pottery instructor Bill Meadows will resume classes on Mondays, April 2 through May 21, or Tuesdays, April 3 through May 22. For sign up information, please call (304) 654-9948.

STUDIO & GALLERY
On exhibit:
The gallery is in Suite 206, on the second floor of the historic Camayo Arcade, 1536 Winchester Ave., in downtown Ashland. It is home to working artists Gail Kirtz and Rodney Chapman, both of whom work in various media and offer their original art and prints for sale.
A new limited edition Giclee print will be available for sale, “Transformation” by Gail Kirtz.
On Exhibit — New abstract colored pencil drawings and other contemporary works by Chapman. Also on exhibit are several new works by Kirtz, including a new rendition in oil of “Bennett’s Mill Covered Bridge.”
Classes are available in oil, acrylic and pastel.
Trumpet lessons and tutoring will be offered by Chapman at the studio. Chapman has a bachelor of music degree in trumpet performance from MSU and has performed professionally in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean.
April 21 and 22 — A two-day workshop in mixed media collage by Kirtz. Space is limited; registration requred.
The studio and gallery are handicapped accessible with an elevator.

DOODLES STUDIO and GALLERY
Friday, 5 to 7:30 p.m. — Open artist’s reception for the new show “Signs of the Times,” featuring traditional, heritage and contemporary works by Kentucky artisans. This show will be on exhibit through May 23.
Also, there will be an opportunity to purchase new books by authors T.F. and Brenda Flynn including, “Divorce, Work and Some Good Stuff of Life in Poems” and “Crafting With Attitude,” a compilation of 95 crafts anyone can do easily and quickly. The authors will be on hand to sign and dedicate books.
Light refreshments will be served. The gallery will feature new pieces by local artists Dale Regensburger and Michael Wagner. New work to be shown includes photography by T.J. Johnson, a resident of Morgan County, and fine acrylics from Ski Meers, who lives in Mason County.
Also in the gallery are handcarved wooden jewelry boxes by artist Tim Ashmore of Morehead, as well as new handcrafted jewelry by Marian Wall. Other works on display include traditional and paper mosaics, oils and fiber art.

Special Exhibits:
“The Faces of Hunger and Homelessness” — On display through April 15. This exhibit inaugurates a new traveling photographic essay, the result of a survey conducted by the area’s Shelter of Hope. The focus for this exhibit is community awareness; the data and photographs demonstrate the impact and diversity of poverty in our community.
“Slam Dunk! The Basketball Memorabilia of John Carpenter” — This exhibit will continue through April 7. Catch Kentucky’s basketball fever and see the memorabilia and autographed pictures taken from the world-renowned collection of Firebrick’s favorite son, John Carpenter.
“Styles and Textiles: Crazy Quilts from the Nineteenth Century” — Visit our textile area where elegant fabrics and elaborate stitches were designed in unconventional and decorative ways for the Victorian home.
FETCH! Challenge Lab — Try the activities that you’ve seen on PBS’s “FETCH!” This month’s challenge is “Go Fly a Kite.” Exhibit is free with regular admission.
Student Special Events:
“Every Child is an Artist” — Wednesdays (March 14, 21 and 28) from 12:45 to 2:15 p.m. Preschool art experience for child and caregiver, includes story and playtime. Sign up for all four sessions at $30 for members and $40 for nonmembers. Walk-in cost is $10 for nonmembers and $7.50 for members. Discount given for second child in the same family. HUNTINGTON MUSEUM of ART
HMA is hosting ceramic artist Mike Vatalaro as a Walter Gropius Master Artist for a lecture, workshop and exhibit all of his work in March.
An exhibit of work by Vatalaro will be on view through March 11. He will speak about his work at 7 p.m. today at HMA. A reception will follow. Admission is free.

PENDLETON ART CENTER
The Pendleton Art Center at 1537-1539 Winchester Ave., is home to artists from the Tri-State area who have a wide range of talents.

Michal Perrine Adams will remain the Featured Artist for the month of March. Her award winning watercolors took top honors with one sale in the recent Greenbo Art Show.
Kathleen Hollett received an oil painting award at the Greenbo Art Show, as well as Ron Haeberle for his watercolors. He took several awards and one sale.
