Ky. awards funding for high-tech jobs

The state has awarded funding to help two companies create 16 new high-tech jobs.

The Cabinet for Economic Development says the companies in Ohio and Campbell counties were awarded a combined total worth up to $250,000.

Gryphon Environmental, LLC in Hartford was awarded up to $100,000 toward the development of patent-pending technology to filter and dewater municipal and industrial wastewater.

Jacobs Automation, LLC in northern Kentucky was awarded up to $150,000 toward the development of automation technology.

The jobs created would have an average annual salary of more than $50,000.

The awards are funded through the cabinet's high-tech investment pool.
