Ashland Community and Technical College Theatre is presenting “A Christmas Carol: Scrooge and Marley” Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
All performances will be in the J.B. Sowards Theatre at ACTC’s College Drive Campus.
This is ACTC Theatre’s 15th annual presentation of the tale of Scrooge, Bob Cratchit and Tiny Tim. The production was scripted by Israel Horowitz based on the novel by Charles Dickens. A musical score by ACTC emeritus professor Max Jackson was added several years ago.
“Our production of A Christmas Carol has become a holiday staple for many people,” said Edward Figgins, ACTC director of theatre. “We add more elaborate costumes and scenery each year to keep the presentation fresh and entertaining for returning audiences.”
The cast includes 50 adults and children from throughout the Tri-State. Len Trent, a former New York City actor, portrays Scrooge. Roger Hagley, interactive TV facilitator at ACTC, is Marley and ACTC/MSU graduate Brian Cook, a Flatwoods resident, is Bob Cratchit.
Figgins is the director and scenic/lighting designer. Jackson is the musical director and Paula Krepsik the costume designer.
Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for students/seniors and groups of 10 or more. Tickets may be reserved with a major credit card through the bookstore at (606) 326-2014.
Reservations are recommended. Unreserved tickets will be sold at the door for each performance.
