Kentucky Fish and Wildlife isn’t going to the dogs. Well, not exactly anyway.
The organization’s K-9 division was giving training in Grayson on Friday morning. Dogs in the program are donated and the officers volunteer for the upkeep. Six Kentucky officers and one from Maryland are in a 10-week training program with new dogs, according to officer Lowell Kennard. The dogs are used for tracking poachers and trespassers and can be used for other law enforcement duties. However, they are not attack dogs.
