Global warming poll taken
MITCHELL, S.D. —
A scientific poll by Dakota Wesleyan University indicates that 77 percent of South Dakotans and 71 percent of North Dakotans are concerned about global warming.
The South Dakota results are nearly identical to last year's poll.
No comparative results are available for North Dakota because this is the first year DWU has done a survey in that state.
Where people lived in South Dakota seemed to be a factor in their responses to the poll, which was taken a month ago.
Thirty-five percent living west of the Missouri River and 31 percent of those living east of the river view global warming as a very serious problem.
The survey of 527 South Dakotans and North Dakotans had a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 4 points.
