Jamie Friederick of Flatwoods has been named to the 2006 summer semester dean’s list at Ball State University in Muncie, Ind.
Students must earn at least a 3.5 grade-point average when enrolled for at least nine credit hours.

The following Paul G. Blazer High school students were selected to participate in the 2006-2007 Youth Leadership Program of Boyd and Greenup Counties:
Madeline Keyser, Emily Greene, Chace McKenzie, Chelsey Reams, Hannah Sloan, Alex Tatman, Jennifer Vice and Lauren Young.

Emily Spriggs, daughter of William Spriggs and Cheryl Spriggs, both of Ashland, interned during the summer in France as part of Transylvania University’s Sister Cities Internship.
Transylvania has an extensive study abroad program and students have studied in countries throughout the world from Britain and France to India and Australia. Twenty-four other Transy students studied abroad during the summer.
Spriggs is a graduate of Paul G. Blazer High School and is a junior.

Raceland-Worthington High School graduate and Transylvania University junior Rebecca Williams studied in Spain during the summer as part of the Kentucky Institute for International Studies program.
The program in Segovia gives students the opportunity to immerse themselves in Spanish culture by living with a Segovian family and traveling to historic cities such as Madrid, Toledo and Salamanca.
Williams is a biology major and daughter of Raymond and Margaret Williams of Worthington.
