Marsha Griffith, a former Ashland and Greenup resident and the daughter of the late Ray and Beatrice Griffith of Greenup, has been awarded an MSIS (masters of science in information science) from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
She has worked for the past five years at Tusculum College in Greeneville, Tenn., where she was recently promoted to public services librarian and assistant professor of library science.
Before moving to Tennessee, she was employed at the Boyd County Public Library as an information specialist.
She is a graduate of Morehead State University with a bachelor’s degree in music education and a master’s degree in music.
She also taught music at Ashland Community College while living in Ashland and has taught music at Tusculum.

Two local seniors at Morehead State University were recently elected to state officers for the Kentucky Chapter of Phi Beta Lambda (Collegiate Future Business Leaders of America).
They were recognized during a national meeting in Nashville, Tenn.
Amanda Revely, daughter of Martin and Lynn Revely of Ashland, was elected state vice president and serves as president for the Morehead chapter.
She is majoring in business management.
Jarrod Huffman was elected state secretary and also serves as vice president for the Morehead chapter.
He is majoring in computer information systems and is the son of Junior and Linda Huffman of Grayson.
