Russell High team gets top score at regional academic meet

CANNONSBURG — The Russell High School academic team received the top overall score at the Governor¹s Cup regional competition last week.

Paul G. Blazer came in second, West Carter was third, Boyd County fourth and Greenup County fifth.

Cup events include five written assessments, plus composition, future problem solving and quick recall.

Regional winners advance to the Kentucky Academic Championships on March 14 through 16 in Louisville.
